Q. How can I join the Lebanon Symphonic Chorus?
Easy, give a call to the LSOC office 513.228.0346
or send us an email to info@musicinlebanon.com with
your name, address, email address, phone number and vocal part.
Currently, no audition is required, however some choral experience
is helpful.
In the event we are midway through a session, don't
let that stop you....get ready to join us in the next session
of rehearsals! The first session of the 2006-2007 concert
season, begins September 21st, at 7:00 PM. The second session
will meet in January and the third session in March.
Q. Where does the Chorus rehearse?
The majority of our rehearsals are held at
the Lebanon Presbyterian Church. Their address is 123 N. East Street
/ Lebanon, Ohio. *All chorus rehearsals meet at LPC unless stated
otherwise.
Q. How can I join the Lebanon Symphony Orchestra?
The Lebanon Symphony Orchestra is a compensated
professional symphony with audition requirements. Please contact
the LSOC office at 513.228.0346 or send an email to info@musicinlebanon.com.
Please attach your resume, instrumental part along with your
contact information and our Orchestra Manager will be in contact with
you.
Q. Do you have vocal soloist auditions?
Yes, generally auditions are held mid to
late October. Please contact the LSOC office at 513.228.0346
or send an email to info@musicinlebanon.com for
audition requirements and available soloist positions. Please
include your contact information, vocal part and if available
your bio, head shot (jpeg format), any music file you may have
of your vocal repertoire/performance, and resume.
Q. I love to sing, but I am not the best
sight reader. Is there help available for additional learning?
YES! The LSC is a singer friendly
environment. We provide high quality CD's for each vocal part
and offer sectional rehearsals prior to our normal rehearsal
time.
Q. What is your rehearsal attendance policy?
The LSC recognizes people have commitments to
work and family. However, to best serve our organization, its
members, contributors and audience - it is imperative to attend
rehearsals; not only for your own knowledge of the particular
piece of music in rehearsal, but out of respect and consideration
for the music director and fellow choristers who attend rehearsals
on a regular basis.
Due to the limited amount of rehearsal time, we cannot continue
to "re-teach" the vocal parts of the previous weeks
work and efforts. In the event you miss three rehearsals, it
is at the discretion of the music director to review your vocal
part independently from a regular rehearsal time to determine
your knowledge and ablities of your vocal part.
It is at that time the music director will determine your participation
for that particular session/concert.
Please note: The Lebanon Symphony Orchestra is
a contracted organization with members attending all of their
required/contracted rehearsal/performance sessions. If an LSO
member is unable to attend any required rehearsal, they are not
contracted for that particular concert event. In the event of
illness or an emergency they are to contact the Orchestra Manager
immediately.
Q. In case of bad weather and a rehearsal needs to be
canceled, where do I find updated informaiton?
There are three ways in which the LSOC provides
this information. One, on the web. Go to members cafe click message
board.
Two, call the LSOC office for a recorded message 513.228.0346
and three tune into Channel 12 WKRC, WKRC radio, WEBN, Mix 94.1,
KISS-FM, Fox 92.5. This season we hope to also implement a phone
calling tree.
