Concert Etiquette

LSO events offer concertgoers a unique opportunity to experience the power and passion of live music. The following information will enhance your concert experience to ensure that all patrons enjoy the concert experience to the fullest.

Arrival

Lebanon Symphony Orchestra evening concerts traditionally begin at 8:00 PM and afternoon concerts at 4:00 PM unless noted otherwise. Doors open for all concerts 60 minutes prior to the event.

Attire

While there is no dress code for Lebanon Symphony performances, patrons generally wear semi-formal or business attire. Formal attire is requested on certain occasions such as, Opening night (if indicated) or gala party and or social events.

Late Seating / Arrival

Late seating will take place during the first convenient pause in the program.

During the Performance

Once a concert is underway, we request that you don’t talk, whisper, sing, hum, or move personal belongings. This will ensure that you, other patrons, and the performers enjoy the full benefits of the performance. Patrons should also refrain from entering and exiting the performance facility while a performance is in progress. Ushers are stationed at entrances and exits. If you must leave your seat, please proceed quickly and quietly to the nearest door or ask the nearest usher for assistance.

Electronic Devices

Cellular phones, beepers, watches, electronic organizers, and other noise-alarm devices should be switched to silent mode.

Program Notes

For information on a particular concert, please refer to the program notes found in the program book and website. Program notes provide a background on the composers, the composition process the story behind the music and highlight significant passages or instruments.

During Intermission

During intermission patrons may visit the use the facilities, or enjoy beverages provided by area restaurants/caterers. No food or beverage is allowed inside any of the performance facilities. For the Summer Pops series, food and beverage vendors will be available where applicable.

Cameras and recording equipment

No cameras or recording equipment is allowed unless contracted by the Lebanon Symphony Orchestra.

Children at Symphony events

Children five years and older may attend Lebanon Symphony Orchestra concerts. The Cookie Concert and Summer Pops Concert Series is intended for children of all ages.

Inclement Weather

All patrons concerned about weather who are attending a performance are instructed to call the LSO office for updated concert information.

We very rarely cancel a concert due to snow or bad weather. If a concert is canceled, we will update the message for patrons. Also, we will notify local television and radio stations of any cancellation if it were to occur. We do ask for patrons to check back on the LSO phone line for concert updates during bad weather.

Patrons are instructed to call the LSO office to learn if there will be any accommodations being made for those unable or unwilling to attend a concert as a result of inclement weather.
